Melbourne - Australian Open , January 14-28

HL&Co - Australie - Melbourne - tennis

Off to Australia for everyone to prepare for the Australian Open.

As a reminder, the defending champions are Madison Keys and Jannik Sinner.

While the draw seems fairly open in the women's competition, Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz once again appear to be a cut above the rest in the men's competition.

We will once again be keeping a close eye on Novak Djokovic: will he win his 10th Australian Open and 25th Grand Slam tournament?! He will be highly motivated, but will his body hold up?

Another great champion to watch closely is Stanislas Wawrinka, three-time Grand Slam winner (including the Australian Open in 2014), who will be retiring at the end of the year.

On the French side, we are used to seeing good results under the Australian sun. Gaël Monfils, who is also playing his last season, will be keen to shine in this first Grand Slam tournament.

Have a great tournament!

HL&Co - chronique

Hello eveyone,

20th Australian Open.
20th time on the courts of Melbourne.
And still the same passion.

I've nicknamed him ‘the bison’ ever since that memorable victory at Roland-Garros against Novak Djokovic. Stan embodies much more than just a list of achievements. He embodies resilience, hard work, and respect for tennis and his opponents.

Nothing was handed to him. He built everything himself, stroke by stroke, session by session, season by season. When others would have given up, he kept going. When doubt crept in, he worked even harder.

Stan doesn't cheat.
He never gives up.
He wins with humility and loses with dignity.

At 40 years old, he reminds everyone that passion knows no age, that courage never fades, and that respect for the game is an immense strength. Every time he steps onto the court is a lesson in character. Every match is a battle fought with heart.

I have immense admiration and deep respect for Stan Wawrinka.

A player who gave us rare, intense and unforgettable moments.
Winner of three Grand Slam tournaments, a Davis Cup, a Masters 1000, Olympic doubles champion in Beijing with Roger Federer, ranked third in the world... Stan has built up an exceptional track record in one of the most competitive eras in tennis history, alongside Federer, Djokovic, Nadal and Murray.

But beyond the titles, it is the path that impresses.
A professional since 2002, Stan is one of those very rare players capable of lasting so long at the highest level in singles. Few have done so before him. Jimmy Connors, the absolute benchmark, played his last US Open at the age of 40. Stan, meanwhile, continues to write his own story, driven by the same desire, the same high standards and the same passion.

Believe in your dreams. Never give up.
When many would have given up long ago, he is still there. Driven by his love of the game, respect for his opponents, daily hard work and the strong values he sincerely embodies..

Stan fights.
Stan inspires.
Thank you, Stan The Man, for all these years of tennis, for the messages you convey on the circuit and in life.
Whatever happens, we'll be there for your last stand.

Thank you for reminding us that true sport is built on effort, perseverance and elegance.
Thank you for continuing to make us dream.
The bison is still there.

See you soon,
Henri

Arlon - ITF Junior Tournament , January 4

Invited by the Royal Tennis Club Arlon and ITF Director Nicolas Thieltgen, Henri Leconte attended the final day of this ITF Junior tournament.
An avid and attentive spectator, he cheered on the players and congratulated the two Belgian winners (Hannelore Daniels and Nicolas Fays). The many participants also benefited from his valuable advice and experience, as there was time for discussion and exchange between the two finals.

"Thank you all for inviting me to this wonderful tournament. Well done to the organisers, participants and winners: Hannelore and Nicolas."
